Parents, students and community members are encouraged to attend. Find out about the real risks of youth vaping from Tricia Dahl, Yale School of Medicine. Tricia Dahl has worked at Yale School of Medicine since 2001 conducting tobacco and alcohol research with both adolescents and adults. She has done extensive work with substance abuse and researches effective methods to treat disorders. Since 2013 she has been researching the effects of e-cigarettes on adolescent behavior and Yale is the only organization in the country doing e-cigarette research with teens
Concerns about youth vaping have reached a crisis mode, as increasing numbers or people in CT and around the country, suffer from serious respiratory illness and even death, that seem to be related to use of electronic cigarettes, or vape pens. According to medical professionals, the CDC, and researchers- it is not 100% clear what is causing these illnesses- it is clear that the health risks of vaping are very high .
Come find out more about vaping and the up-to-date research. We will also have informaiton about how to prevent your child from starting to vape, how to talk about vaping with your child, and how to support your child in quitting if they have already started.
